With LunarAirlock, Automation is Key.
Strong information security starts with the secure configuration of computing and networking devices. Unfortunately, many devices are not securely configured out of the box, leaving security professionals with the endless task of constantly configuring and re-configuring devices in the field.
That doesn’t even include time spent securing Internet Explorer, IIS, SQL Server, or any other applications that have an important impact on security.
LunarAirlock Automates this entire process for you.
Automating the process of applying STIGs and greatly reducing the time spent on technical configurations are some of the features that make LunarAirlock invaluable. Also, it assists the tracking of manual checks such as physical and environmental security controls.
What is LunarAirlock?
LunarAirlock is a tool that processes files called locksets. Each lockset contains a secure configuration checklist, generally for a single platform such as Windows 7, Windows Server 2012 or Internet Explorer 10.
LunarAirlock reads these lockset files in order to determine what secure configuration settings are recommended for each platform. Each individual setting is automated by a script. Each lockset contains hundreds of scripts that automate the tedious process of applying a secure configuration baseline. Before running a lockset, you can decide whether to run all of its scripts or just a subset. You can also mix and match various locksets to get the exact coverage you need for your organization.
The LunarAirlock tool itself is completely free, but it can’t do anything useful without having at least one lockset available. Therefore, we bundle LunarAirlock with a free lockset. Suitable for home and small business use, the free lockset includes 57 secure configuration checks for Windows and Internet Explorer and it takes less than a minute to run. It is compatible with Windows 7 & 8, as well as Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10.
The free lockset is an easy and efficient way to establish a secure configuration baseline for homes and small businesses that do not need a full, comprehensive STIG.
Many organizations need a comprehensive STIG, especially if you work in the DOD or are selling to the DOD. We sell specialized STIG locksets that automate the arduous and tedious secure configurations for the following platforms:
• Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10
• Windows 7 & 8
• Windows Server 2008 & 2012
Each lockset is licensed separately. A license entitles you to use that lockset either on one computer or on one piece of removable media (such as a USB drive). The license includes one year of free upgrades and unlimited e-mail technical support.
With LunarAirlock, You Get Very Flexible Configurations
Of course, the STIGs do not fit every company’s exact needs. LunarAirlock allows you to easily customize STIGs by enabling or disabling specific checks that are not compatible with your use case.
LunarAirlock applies hundreds of security configurations in just a few minutes, and it displays the results in real-time. When the secure configuration is complete, you can save or print a report that includes the details of the secure configurations that were applied, along with a list of the manual checks that need to be completed offline. The report is perfect for audit and compliance purposes.
We can also build custom secure configurations that meet NIST, DoD, IC, ISO, CIS, HIPAA, and other baseline security configurations for any technology on a contract basis.
